After the huge success of AEW Forbidden Door, fans are even more familiar with the biggest stars in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
The show pitted NJPW and AEW wrestlers against one another on the biggest star possible, putting on some huge wrestling matches that will live long in the memory.
With the success of the partnership between the two companies, adding a NJPW DLC for AEW Fight Forever seems like the sensible move for the game.
Many rematches and dream matches from Forbidden Door could be played, as well as some bouts that you never thought you’d be able to play.
There has not been a video game to include NJPW stars since Fire Pro Wrestling World, so this would go a long way to impress the NJPW wrestlers and inspire them to buy the game.
Here are the top wrestlers they need to add into the game for the AEW Fight Forever NJPW DLC.
AEW Fight Forever NJPW DLC
Hiroshi Tanahashi

With a number of AEW matches under his belt, Hiroshi Tanahashi has to be the first man named for the AEW Fight Forever NJPW DLC.
Tanahashi competed for the AEW Championship at both Forbidden Door shows, losing to Jon Moxley and MJF in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
As a legend of Japanese wrestling, he would be a huge get for the new AEW game. Fans would be excited to finally play the CM Punk vs Hiroshi Tanahashi match that was cancelled for the first Forbidden Door show.
Kazuchika Okada

Kenny Omega vs Kazuchika Okada is one of the matches you need to go out of your way to watch. The four bouts they had in NJPW rank among the greatest of all time.
The fifth match in the series could well be played in AEW Fight Forever, if Kazuchika Okada is included as part of the Japanese DLC for the game.
The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion is among the greatest of all time, so would likely be among the highest rated wrestlers on the game.
A rematch against Bryan Danielson would also be a fan-favourite match-up. Fans will love to be able to play as The Rainmaker on AEW Fight Forever, and would be one of the most anticipated on the game.
Jushin “Thunder” Liger

Despite retiring in 2020, Jushin Liger remains one of the biggest stars in NJPW, and would be perfect to be included in AEW Fight Forever.
He wrestled his last match at Wrestle Kingdom 14, but could be one of the big names added in the latest Japanese DLC.
As a pioneer of the Junior Heavyweight Style, he would be the perfect addition for many dream matches in the game. He is also one of the few inclusions who have wrestled Owen Hart, so this is the first time that match could be replayed in a video game for years and years.
Keiji Mutoh/ The Great Muta

Also known as The Great Muta, Mutoh is another one of the legends of wrestling to appear in AEW. He appeared at AEW Full Gear, as a judge for the AEW World Championship match between Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes.
He also appeared as The Great Muta on an episode of AEW Rampage, helping save Sting from a beatdown and hitting his signature Poison Mist.
The Japanese legend has never appeared in a WWE game, but a fictionalised version of himself did appear in the Playstation title WCW vs The World.
Despite being 58 years old, Mutoh recently won the GHC World Championship. This legend is still going at it, and would be an incredible addition to the AEW legends Roster alongside Bret Hart.
Antonio Inoki

The late-Antonio Inoki is probably the most influential wrestlers in the history of Japan. As the founder of New Japan Pro Wrestling, the sport would not be what it is without his influence on the business.
However, it was in the ring that he was the most successful. He won multiple IWGP Heavyweight titles, and was victorious in numerous G1 Climax tournaments in NJPW.
His battles with the likes of Vader and Hulk Hogan are legendary, although dream matches with current stars like Kenny Omega and CM Punk would be possible in AEW Fight Forever with his inclusion as DLC.
Will Ospreay

The addition of the English sensation would make Will Ospreay one of the most fun characters to play as in the game.
Ospreay is a high-flying superstar in NJPW, and even won the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship once in his career.
He recently had two of the best matches of all time against Kenny Omega. If he is added into AEW Fight Forever as part of a NJPW DLC, the third match could be recreated on the game, this time with the epic Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match stipulation.
